A frontline governorship aspirant of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for 2027 gubernatorial election, Enugu State, Professor Jehu Onyekwere Nnaji, has urged  Christians to love one another, describing Easter as period to mark the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Nnaji, a Professor of International Law and Global Politics, noted that Easter as celebrated by Christians all over the world is a moment that symbolizes victory over death, darkness, and despair.

The erudite scholar of international pedigree, urged the people of Enugu State and indeed, Nigerians to keep hope alive as this celebration offers a message that resonates far beyond religious walls—it speaks to the very human need for hope in times of uncertainty.

“As we celebrate the resurrection of Christ this Easter, we are reminded that forgiveness is not optional. Christ’s triumph over death calls us to rise above bitterness, resentment, and division, embodying His compassion in our families, communities, and nation.

Professor Jehu who holds the traditional titles of Chimereze 1 and Dikeoha 1 of Amurri Ancient Kingdom lamented over the reports that over 63 percent of Nigerians, more than 133 million people, live in multidimensional poverty and over 76 million Nigerians live below the national poverty line.

In line with the Bishop of Nike Diocese (Anglican Communion) Rt. Rev’d Dr Christian Onyia who declared, “True forgiveness in society must go hand in hand with accountability, transparency, and justice, called on Nigerians both leaders and the led to embrace integrity, justice, and equitable governance.

“As we approach the 2027 general elections, there is need for citizens to take their destiny by their hands by using the ballot box to vote out bad government.

“We need commitment to prevention, protection, survivor support, justice, and rehabilitation, anchored in both law and restorative social ethics.
.
“A country where youth unemployment stands at 34 percent, with underemployment affecting over 25 percent more indicate there is need for a change.
