Edo confirms three mpox cases, intensifies tracing

According to a public health advisory issued by the ministry, the three patients are currently receiving care at Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, Irrua, and Edo State University Teaching Hospital, Auchi, respectively.

The patients have been isolated, and the ministry has urged residents to maintain strict Infection Prevention and Control measures to prevent the spread of the disease.

FG constitutes 10-man committee to enforce S’Court judgment on LG autonomy

In a statement by the Director of Information and Public Relations at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Segun Imohiosen, it was stated that the FG has set up a committee for the implementation of the judgement.

He said, “The Secretary to the Government of the Federation has inaugurated an Inter-Ministerial Committee to enforce the Supreme Court judgement delivered on 11th July 2024, granting financial autonomy to Local Governments in Nigeria.”

Civil servants’ screening on IPPIS portal ends Friday – FG

The circular issued by the Accountant-General of the Federation, Oluwatoyin Madein, gave a deadline of July 31 before granting a two-week extension, which ended on August 15.

The directive to verify the identity of all civil servants was issued after a citizen living abroad reported that he had continued to receive his monthly pay despite having left the country years earlier.

In response, President Bola Tinubu directed that all civil servants who are drawing salaries from the government after relocating abroad should be made to refund the money.
