The Enugu State governor, Dr Peter Mbah has asked the people of the state to vote for the People’s Democratic Party in the forthcoming local government elections in the state.

The governor made the appeal on Wednesday during the grand finale of the PDP campaign flag off for the chairmanship/Councillorship elections scheduled for November 21, 2024 and tasked the candidates on results oriented governance in order to justify the confidence reposed in them by their people.

Naijacentral Online reports that the highpoint of the event was handing over the party flags to each of the 17 candidates by the governor.

Dr Mbah who acknowledged that he had scrutinized the candidates’ capacity in the area of innovations, assured the people of an unprecedented development of their various council areas, and urged them to massively vote for the party in order to bring quality leadership closer to them.

While stating that his administration is committed to generating wealth and creating opportunities for the people of the state, the governor reiterated his avowed determination to make Enugu one of the best states in Nigeria.

Speaking on behalf of other candidates after receiving the PDP flag from the governor, the party’s Chairmanship hopeful in Nkanu East local government area, Hon. Okechukwu Edeh who said they are ready to replicate Mbah’s quality leadership in their localities, noting that the governor has made their job easier through his developmental ingenuity.

The PDP chairmanship candidate of Igboeze South, Hon Ferdinand Ugwueze and his Isi-Uzo counterpart, Hon. Obiora Obeagu promised to urbanise and bring the needed infrastructural development to their council areas if elected, and described governor Mbah as a game changer.

The event attracted PDP stalwarts including past and present National Assembly members, past and present State Assembly members, among other party faithful.
