A Frontline Governorship Aspirant for 2027 Enugu State gubernatorial election in the platform of African Democratic Party (ADC), Professor Jehu Onyekwere Nnaji has condemned in its entirety the last Sunday massacre in Jos Plateau State.

Nnaji, professor of International Law and Global Politics said the Palm Sunday killing had once again exposed the deficiency in the nation’s security system.
“While specific details regarding the perpetrators and the exact number of casualties are still emerging, reports indicate that a significant number of lives were lost in what is being described as a brutal and unprovoked attack.

“The massacre is believed to have targeted a specific community within Jos, raising concerns about ethnic or religious motivations behind the violence”, he said.

In a telephone interview, Prof Nnaji described the massacre as a “heinous act of barbarism” and a stain on the conscience of our nation.”

Nnaji further called on Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang to take immediate and decisive action to ensure the safety and security of all citizens, particularly in vulnerable communities, stressing that such acts of violence should not be tolerated and that perpetrators must face the full force of the law.

“The primary duty of any responsible government in any part of the world is the protection of lives and properties of the citizens. The reverse is the case in Nigeria and until the citizens start to demand and make the leaders accountable insecurity will continue to increase in the country.
.
He, however, appealed for calm and unity in the aftermath of the massacre, urging the residents of Jos and Nigerians at large to refrain from any actions that could further incite violence or division.

Nnaji expresses his condolences to the bereaved families and the Governor of Plateau State Caleb Mutfwang for the irreparable loss.
